In December 2025, Whatsapp forced logout for users who had already logged in desktop app in order to login in again to use new updates implemented.

It updated the Whatsapp desktop app with almost all options that had already been in the mobile app. 

Now, in general, I can appreciate Meta and Whatsapp specifically for all new features on App either on mobile or on desktop.

Now I can conclude that, on my one hand, the Whatsapp Desktop app is better friendly and nice user experience, especially the interface.

On my side, this will help me and others like me who need to transfer videos and documents to the phone so as to share WhatsApp status, which is time-consuming and boring somehow with taking bundles to send and download to mobile.

This helps anyone who has only WhatsApp on a laptop who has had the problem of adding a new number to their WhatsApp.

Before, they had needed someone who had a smartphone or mobile phone to rent them to log into their Whatsapp account so that they could add that new contact, then WhatsApp desktop, then load a new contact.

Also, Before, it would not have been possible to add new contact numbers on WhatsApp without logging whatsapp on mobile Whatsapp, but now it is possible, which is a great solution for many who do not have mobile smartphones.

The settings also has most of the same options as Whatsapp on mobile.
